These types of pebbles were used to strike rocks and break them. There is a clear distinction between the hammers stone qualified as “hard” and the ones made of animal or plant wood, qualified as “soft”. The visible marks at both ends of these hammers stone show perfect evidence of repeated shocks applied on stone blocks.
