This skull is tinted with red ochre and was initially covered with more than 200 perforated elements, shells and deer teeth, probably assembled on netting. The body or dress ornaments date back to the Upper Paleolithic, but it could have been created by Neanderthals at the very beginning of the Middle Paleolithic.
