The objects in this showcase give evidence of the different techniques and processes used to break up a block of stone. To every time period corresponds knapping methods and to every knapping method corresponds recognizable cores and flakes. For the archaeologist, these are obvious chronological as well as cultural markers since Palaeolithic cultures are defined according to specific tools.
