Texte (from field presentation):
You are facing the presentation of the Quaternary Period, a geologic subdivision corresponding to the time of Humans. In the centre is the human evolution line since the African emergence 2 million years ago. On the left is the succession of cultural phases of prehistory in the South of France. On the right is the segmentation of the Quaternary Period according to different environmental studies in which the “isotopic stratigraphy” shows the succession of climatic phases. This display is read in chronological order, from bottom to top. The dates written in orange are by convention expressed in years B.C. If you read it horizontally, you can then chronologically link all the events stated in the different sections.
